Dining Links

The Park Hotel
Warm and inviting with a fantastic pub menu and friendly staff. Just a 5 minute stroll from the Laird. One of the best Chicken Parmagiana’s in Melbourne.

Red Bird Cafe
A small and welcoming Mom and Pop cafe just 1 minute down Gipps Street. Great coffee, slices and baguettes. Open early Monday-Saturday.

Bomb Cafe
A relatively new addition to the area on ‘so cool it’s not popular yet’ Johnston Street. Great assortment of pastries, rolls etc. and eco-friendly coffee. Worth heading out back for the tranquil back yard setting.

Abbotsford Convent and Children’s Farm
Worth it just for the country-meets-city atmosphere. The Convent Bakery and Children’s Farm Café are highly recommended for breakfast. 10 minutes’ walk from the Laird along the Yarra River.

Victoria Street
While Vietnamese restaurants dominate, Melbourne’s ‘Little Saigon’ also has Thai, Chinese, Indian and Korean as well.

Smith Street
One of the ‘foodie’ destinations of Melbourne, the strip between Gertrude and Johnston Streets now eclipses Brunswick Street for variety - from Fish ‘n Chips to fine dining.
